Podcast Episode 2: Dublin marathon
Double marathon weekend Part 2
[Part 1: Snowdonia]
You know what’s fun? Get on a bumpy ferry across the Irish Sea in a gale with post-marathon legs and try to walk to the toilets. I was not in charge of what direction I was travelling.
Our ferry had been cancelled because of bad weather, so we were put on a later ferry. This meant we wouldn’t make it to the expo in time to collect our race numbers. Luckily Laura Stewart had already landed and leaped into action to save our race. Thanks Laura!
For Dublin marathon Katie and I were joined by Laura, Alex, Josie and Phil running and Liz had some cheering reinforcements from Cathy, another injured runner.
Thanks also to Blacklane Limousines for delivering us to our hotel.
Love it! Very entertaining blog. Makes me ache to join the marathon club. Someday!
Another wonderful re-enactment via, audio from the three of you. Sooo funny, we loved it xx
Just signed up for my first marathon today and this was definitely the inspiration I needed! Awesome post!
Thanks Paula!
I just love your blogs!! I’m from Louisiana United States and recently read Born to Run and trying to get the courage to run. I’m not sure what I’m scared of but can’t wait to conquer my fear of running! Any advice would be wonderful
Stick with it! You’ll get there. You can go back to my old posts to see that I was just like you once. (Or read my book for a very long story cut short with some advice thrown in for good measure).
Laura.
Great audio addition. Enjoyed listening to that 🙂
