Last week I spent six days cycling through Europe. We set off from London and headed to Dover where we took a ferry to Dunkirk in France before heading through Belgium and Holland.
We cycled more than 300 miles in total, had some good times and some tough days. It was a great way to spend a week and a great way to see a few countries. Here’s some highlights.
A week of bicycle adventuring starts today. I’ve packed more sandwiches than pairs of pants. Off we go! A photo posted by Laura Fountain (@lazygirlrunning) on
Day two: 54 miles clocked up from Dunkirk to Roubaix via Ypres. Beer and frites and chocolate in Belgium for lunch then back into France to sleep. Cycled along brilliant cycle paths all the way which make me angry that the UK’s infrastructure is so poor. A photo posted by Laura Fountain (@lazygirlrunning) on
Day six: 60 miles from Domburg to Rotterdam cycling along the coast and across the Dutch delta, basically cycling on the sea over bridges 5 miles long. A photo posted by Laura Fountain (@lazygirlrunning) on
I’ll be doing a more informative post with routes and details for anyone wanting to replicate a similar trip later on.
Looks like you got amazing weather too!! This trip looks like so much fun… I’m tempted to go now too!
