As you may have read, I was feeling as though my training was a bit flat recently and I didn’t think I was challenging myself as I was being cautious not to run too much before half marathon training starts.
However, I’ve joined a new ‘running community’ website which has some clever tools that record and analyse your training and it turns out that I’ve been improving more than I had thought.
After spending most of my lunch hour transferring my runs for this year from the Facebook application they were stored on over to the new website, I’ve discovered that I ran nearly twice as many miles in May as I did in February. Brilliant news.
I’ve recently been reading that upping your mileage is the best way to improve your 10K time. And this is definately something I’d like to do. I was naive to think that the smaller amount of running I had done before the second of my two 10K would have made much of an impact on my PB – however, looking at this graph I think I might now be in a position to shave a couple of minutes off my 56.46 record.
