Week two ended with a 6-mile run that took me through Wimbledon Common, through Richmond Park and finished in Kingston where I rewarded myself with a huge breakfast. Although I’d set off at 11.30am the sun was also late making an appearance on Saturday so I was able to get my run in before it got really hot. On my arrival into Kingston I was greeted by a rain shower which helped disguise the sweat and kept me from alarming the many shoppers who were in the town centre.
Lazy boy came with me on his bike carrying a bottle of water, a change of clothes and acting as my very own support crew. He too had been lured off the sofa by the promise of a big breakfast in Kingston. It was a really nice route and it really does make a difference to have something nice to look at as you plod along.
Monday was my ‘easy’ 2-miler which meant plodding through the rain for 20 minutes. thankfully it was ‘easier’ than last week’s easy run – maybe the name will eventually hold true.
So that just about brings me up to date. I’m heading out for a 5-mile run tonight which includes a 3-mile tempo section. And tomorrow – exciting stuff – I’m going for my first ever sports massage. Stay tuned for a full report (no pictures though).
