It occurred to me while reading a fellow blogger’s post about running in New York’s Central Park and thinking how lucky they were to run somewhere exciting that, I too, am pretty lucky. Running in a city may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I like it. So whether you’re a Londoner, a visitor or just a daydreamer – I’ll be sharing some of my favourite routes round London.
This 3-mile route takes us along the north and south banks of the Thames and past a whole host of landmarks. The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the London Eye, the Tate Modern are all on the route, and while crossing the Millenium footbridge outside the Tate you’ll get a fantastic view of St Paul’s Cathederal and Tower Bridge. It also passes a number of stations so you can start and stop wherever you like.
Nowhere makes me realise quite how lucky I am to live in London like being on the river. When I run past all these landmarks it reminds me of being a child and being brought to London for a day out.

I agree, very few jogging routes beat running along the thames, past the landmarks such as the London Eye and Tower Bridge. And its really special running on the millenium brifge, like you’re floating in the air.
Though, a word of caution, Westminster Bridge and the London Eye is very very crowded with tourists much of the day and you won’t be able to run these sections. Run early in the morning (before 9am) or at night solves this problem.
