Congratulations to everyone who took part in Janathon 2011 – the inaugral Janathon event. My stats aren’t as bad as I’d feared. I ran and blogged 21 out of 31 days. I did my core exercises most of the other days and am well on my way to developing a two-pack. A two-pack of what is yet to be seen.
Without Janathon I would still be slacking on my core strength exercises and wouldn’t have made it out of the door on half the days that I did. Some how I’ve clocked up 86 miles this January. Now that’s quite a bit more than the 68 that I ran last January, especially when I consider that last January I was in marathon training. Now there’s a voice in my head telling me that I could run a marathon in eight weeks’ time if I stuck at it. I think that’s a voice that I’ll try and ignore for now.
The last run of Janathon saw me running 4 miles which was interupted half way through with a visit to the dentist. Amazingly, I bounded out the door despite the less than plesent mid-run activity that I had planned.
Janathon Day 31
4 miles and 1 trip to the dentist.
I do think we’re all ‘winners’ for having taken part in Janathon … as we’ve all done more exercise than we would have normally done!!
So, well done on your improvements and keep on running … until the Junathon!
