I don’t know about you but I’m already far too excited about the 2012 Olympics coming to London. Last night I watched ‘Cool Runnings’ for about the tenth time which further stoked the flames of my Olympic fever. I’m tempted to go as far as to buy a diary ridiculously early so that I can write down two very important dates for next year: Sunday 5 August and Sunday 12 August.
I can’t remember the date of my best friend’s wedding (some time in Spring ish) but I do know when the men and women’s Olympic marathons will be run. I’ll have camped out on the Embankment to get a prime spot to view all the action and my fingers will have been crossed since, err now, that Paula Radcliffe stays fit and healthy until that date. And that Haile Gebrselassie doesn’t retire again in the next 18 months.
In summary: ‘I’m feeling very Olympic today’. If you are too, check out the schedule at the official site. Or you can see some sweaty pictures of me running the 2012 Olympic marathon route.
Hi, Looking at your earlier posts I see that you wrote a piece on Ron Hill (Dec 31).
Ron won the National xc champs in 1966 and 1968. Last Saturday he finished the event at over 70. He finished 1296th out of 1302 who completed the course at Alton Towers.
I’ve not been running as long as Ron….only 50 years…you might wish to have a look at my blog

Good to read of the progress you’ve made.
