My desk. 5pm.
Colleague: Fancy a quick pint?
Me: Ummmmm…..
This morning I got up at 6 and trekked across London for an appointment. I didn’t get to work until 10.30 so felt too bad to do anything more than eat a bagel at my desk.
The afternoon was busy but my training plan stared up at me from my desk distracting me. “shush training plan. I haven’t forgotten you.”
The plan was a quick 5 miles down the Thames before showering back at the office then trekking across London for a flat viewing then back to the other side of the city to meet a friend who is putting me up tonight. It would be a long day.
Colleague: Just a quick one?
Me: I really want to… But I have to go for a run.
Turns out there aren’t many pubs on the road to sub-4 hour marathon domination.
Juneathon Day 8
5 miles. One flat viewing. One sulk. It’s now 8.42pm and I’m off to the pub.
Top marks for turning down the drink. I doubt I’d have been so strong! 🙂
LOL if only there were lots of pubs on the road to a sub 4 marathon…I bet there would be more Marathoners!
beautifully done! there are many pints down the road for later.
Thanks. I was pretty proud of myself too!
