If you’re still in denial of the fact that running does not make you look hot, you might like to take a look at the work of artist Sacha Goldberger. He photographed runners to prove just this point (maybe that wasn’t his intention but that’s what I’m taking from it). He and his team set up an outdoor studio at Bois de Boulogne park, near Paris. They stopped runners and asked them to sprint a few 100m before posing for him. He then asked them to visit his studio a week later dolled up to the nines and pose again.
You can see the interesting results here. Some of the runners look more similar to their normal selves than some of the others do. Maybe they weren’t sprinting hard enough or maybe that’s just how Parisian runners roll. But that’s not how I roll – this is how I roll. It’s not a pretty sight, I think you’ll agree. Even with make-up.
Brilliant.
Is Nottingham bad? I was considering it because a) I am also expecting a London rejection b) I’m from Nottingham originally so will have supporters for a change and won’t need to pay for a bed the night before and c) I am going to do a marathon next year no matter what. Now I’m scared.
Do it Nicky! From the reviews I’ve seen the course is good, few hills in the first half but nothing too bad. I’ll report back in just over two weeks and let you know how I find it.
Laura.
I will be watching with baited breath
