Yesterday morning I went along to the launch of the Nike Training Club (NTC) ‘Train To Run’ class – and today I have the achy muscles to prove it. Thighs, stomach and chest all got a good going over.

This NTC class is designed for runners and focused on drills to help build strength and stability for running. For me, running is a chance to unwind and so going solo is generally how I like it – but when it comes to strength training and the like, I need a pretty big kick up the backside in order to get it done. And Nike provided that kick.

Gil, our trainer for the session, put us through our paces with parachute push-ups, burpees, squats lunges and more. For an hour we didn’t stop moving and worked up quite a sweat. It introduced me to a few new moves that I’ll try and make more of a habit – I promise Gil.

The sessions are completely free of charge, you just need to find a class that’s close to you. And if you don’t live close to one you can get all the exercises from the iPhone app – handy for for busting out a few of the exercises at the end of a run.

Nike Training Club ‘Train To Run’ sessions will be available for free on the NTC App and in live classes led by Nike Master Trainers throughout the UK. Saturday morning ‘Train To Run’ NTC classes are now available in Regent’s Park and Clapham Common, to book visit – www.facebook.com/NikeTrainingClubUK
