It’s Christmas and, because I’ve been especially good this year, Santa has rewarded me with an early release of my book The Lazy Runner. It’s available now on Amazon and iBooks for reading on your iPhone, iPad or computer. You can also get it from the Kobo store and pretty much any other purveyor of fine ebooks.
Here’s what the publishers say about it…
The book offers tips on motivation and how to make running enjoyable – a practical, “what I wish I’d known” side, including buying kit and choosing races – plus a narrative that traces Laura’s progress from the sofa in front of the TV to running a sub 4-hour marathon.
It’s an inspirational story, and an essential beginner’s guide. The book follows Laura Fountain’s highs and lows from starting out as a novice runner to completing her first marathon, and then setting about chiselling seconds off her personal best. At first unable to run 400 metres without stopping, Laura has now completed five marathons, the most recent in under four hours.
As it’s Christmas, I’m sharing the love and giving you a little gift too. If you read the book and post a review (it doesn’t have to be flattering because I’m all for editorial integrity) either of your blog or on Amazon, I’ll send you one of my very lovely pin badges.
I have 50 badges to send out, so get in quick! Email me a link to your review and your address and the postal fairies will do the rest (providing you live in the UK – sorry).
Thanks to everyone for reading my blog over the past few years. Without you the book wouldn’t have happened.
Downloaded the book last night and am already crediting it for getting me out in the rain this morning.
Brilliant. Hope you enjoy it – the book, not the rain.
Laura.
Have to wait and see if Santa will bring me a download, if not I’ll get it myself and review will follow! Possible to pre-book a badge? 🙂
I’m sure there’ll be one left for you 🙂
Finished the book and loved it!
Found myself smiling and laughing along the way, glad I was reading it on the sofa and not on a train.
Well done and thanks for a great read.
Thanks Amanda. Glad you enjoyed it!
lAURA.
Finished reading it Laura and loved it. I hope to be fit for this years Great Eastern (Injured Steve from chapter 5) and would be great to run with you again. Chasing my 1.34:00 of 22 years ago 😉
Glad you liked it. I’ll be at the GER looking for sub 1:40. See you there.
Hi Laura! I discovered your blog by total chance last spring when, after never exercising in my life, I decided I was running a marathon and started from scratch. That’s why I love reading your firsts posts, because it encourages me to go on! I wanted to buy your book, but on iBooks they say that it’s only available in the US Apple store, and I don’t have one… I would like to know if there’s another way to buy it either in iBook or ePub format? Thanks!
