So yeah, I’m starting a podcast.

Back in October I did a couple of audio blogs of Snowdonia and Dublin marathon. This was mainly because I thought that after running them both in one weekend I’d have no energy for typing and this seemed like a good alternative.

I had a lot of fun making them, so I thought I’d do some more and make them available as proper podcast things.

In the spirit of those first two audio blogs, where I chatted to my friend Katie while running around marathon courses, I want to make the podcasts as real (non-studio) as possible. So, wherever I can, the podcasts will be recorded on the run.

I’ve met many people through the internet who, by suggesting we go for a run or do a race together, I’ve had some great chats with. It’s a good way to get to know people. So I’ve invited a few people I know, and a few that I’d like to know, to go for a run with me while I record it.

Some will be amazingly talented runners who’ve taken on epic challenges, others will be beginners just getting into running. As long as they run, I’ll chat to them, because I believe everyone has something interesting to say if you ask the right questions.

The first two podcasts are available on iTunes now. They’re the original audio blogs from SnowDublin. If you haven’t already heard them you should go and download them. And if you have already listened to them, you should go there anyway, give me a star rating and subscribe, because then you’ll get a lovely new podcast directly into your ears every so often.

Yes, ‘every so often’ is a bit vague. I aim to make it more than once a month, but it definitely won’t be weekly. It’s all a bit of an experiment. I promise not to sing in future episodes.

If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them. And if you’re a non-Apple user, I think you can find the RSS here. Or download the podcasts directly here.

Episode 3 will be along before the end of 2015 and will feature a beer run. Go subscribe now.
