If you don’t already listen to the Marathon Talk podcast you should. And you should definitely listen to this week’s show.
BECAUSE I’M ON IT!Martin and Tom invited me on to talk about my experience of going from not being about to run AT ALL to getting my Good For Age qualification and lots of other stuff in between.
So if you’d like me to keep you company on your run, download the podcast! or you can listen online.Just ignore the bit where I say I could maybe, probably run a 5 minute mile if I tried. I was still overexcited from finishing a 100 mile cycle.
Hey Laura,
Greetings from America!
What a great interview, well done!
I was a little disappointed that you didn’t mention getting scolded by me when you were trying to break 4 hours, remember my advice??? “Lay off the beer and get your head in the game!” Totally “tough love”, but you have blossomed into such an amazing runner and person…so proud of you! 🙂
Susan
Oh wow! That’s really exciting! I shall definitely have a listen. 🙂 I love Marathon Talk, but I’m a couple of years behind everyone else (up to Episode 16)…might have to make an exception to listening to them in order and jump into this one!
Just wanted to say that, despite never hearing if you or this blog, the interview was excellent and you came across very well – and as a real person which is very encouraging for the rest of us! Well done, and will stick with the blog from now on!
Hi Laura
Great interview on Marathon Talk this week. Good luck with the book.
Richard
Laura that’s fantstic. I’m off to download the episode so I can listen to it.
Thanks everyone! Glad you enjoyed it.
Susan, good to hear from you again. I still like a beer as much as a run, but I probably have a better balance now than i did when I was shooting for my first sub-4.
Laura.
Well said, Laura. I think finding balance in life is really the key to success/happiness. We have been on this journey together from the beginning. Six marathons for me too, albeit quite a bit slower than you. Getting ready for my first Ultra Marathon(50k)in September. Any thoughts about moving into Ultra’s, Laura?
Happy Running!
Susan
At the moment I just have one race down for 2014 and that’s London Marathon. I’m not making any grand plans until the end of October. I would like to move up to Ultra distances, but whether that will happen next year is still TBC.
Laura.
Hi Laura. Nice interview on MT.
I was very interested in the blogging community you mentioned. I have my own running blog and I’d love to join a community like this. Right now it’s mainly just a personal diary and I get very few comments. Any advice or tips would be great, and I was wondering too if your blog group is open for me to join?
Bert
Agree with the commenters above, nice interview. I actually downloaded it and listened to that on my last run, found it very motivating and a nice change from listening to music!
