Not running a spring marathon this year? Make a fellow runner smile by going down to support. Take a sign with you and cheer them up. I’ll never forget the sign I saw during Brighton marathon that said “Run! Zombies are chasing you!” Be encouraging or be funny. Either way don’t go for the old “Nearly there” atย mile 3. It’s neither funny or original and quite possibly dangerous – for you!

What’s the funniest sign you’ve seen a supporter holding during a race?

Geoff’s friends left signs at every mile marker.
It’s amazing!
That’s great Abby. Thanks for sharing!

Hehehe… I have not ran a race yet but now I will be looking for funny and amazing signs ๐ Those were great!
Funny signs are great during longer distances. They take your mind of the gruelling run for just a few moments which can make all the difference ๐
“Stop reading this sign and get running” – at around mile 23 on Sunday :o)
I think the best signs I have seen were at the Houston Marathon this year (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/run/7420702.html).
“Worst parade ever!” ๐
