To kick off the Lazy Girl Top Ten can’t live without (well at least can’t run without) pieces of kit is the humble cap. During the past few weeks of sunny weather I’ve become good friends with my new cap. It’s much more practical than sunglasses for keeping the sun out of my eyes while running and proved invaluable on that sunny day in April when I ran the Brighton Marathon.
Far from just being a piece of summer headwear, the cap is an ever-present in my kit bag. (I say ‘kit bag’ when it’s really more of a heap by the washing basket.) When it rains the seasoned runner isn’t deterred, and with the aid of a cap (preferrably with plastic in the peak instead of cardboard which can get soggy) can carry on clocking up the miles without rain getting in their eyes.
So, for being a benefit come rain or shine – the cap makes it to number 10 in my Top 10 Running Kit.
