I’d been doubting whether I should still be referring to myself as ‘Lazy girl’ as my activity level has shot up in recent months. Last week, following my injury, I decided I should rest for a week. After thoroughly enjoying my rest I’ve realised that ‘Lazy’ is a state of mind and not just a state of inactivity and I still definitely possess a Lazy state of mind.

Last night I returned to the gym to face the treadmill and I was a little nervous about how I would do. I didn’t want my injury to still be bothering me for two reasons:

1) I like the idea of running and would really like to get better at it and at least complete the 10k I’ve signed up for.

2) I’d just spent £80 on running shoes and if my body is not compatible with running I could have done with finding this out a week earlier.

I can happily report that I clocked up a distance of 4.5km on the treadmill in a time of 27 mins. Hooray for my new personal best.
