The next day

I was surprised that I managed to run for 20 minutes yesterday, but even more surprised that I’m not hobbling around today. Any sort of exercise for me in the past has usually meant walking like John Wayne for a couple of days after.

What’s even more worrying is that, for now, I’m am not regretting signing up for that 10k and I’m, dare i say, quite looking forward to getting back on the treadmill. Not today though – I don’t think the three pints I had last night would help me to another PB.

I don’t think I’m in danger of becoming one of those people that is addicted to exercise but I can see some benefits.

For one my skin, which only two years ago was in the midst of adult acne and was still prone to break-outs a few months ago, is looking the best it ever has. I’m telling myself that this is a benefit of regular exercise to keep me going to the gym – but it does make sense: improved circulation and all that.
