How to Run Faster
How to run faster – here’s three simple tips.
1. Run faster
Simple really, but I mean in training. If you don’t already do it, add in intervals or tempo sessions to your training (ease them in and get some advice if you’re unsure). Not sure how to do intervals? Here’s some advice.
2. Run slower
Wait? What?! Yep, run slower in training. It will help build your aerobic fitness so you can hold your pace for longer, and you can’t do the speed sessions above without also doing the easy runs and long runs nice and slow. This post explains more.
3. Have patience
There’s no use in being a fast injured runner because you’re not going to set any PBs sat on the injury bench. So take care of yourself, don’t push too hard too soon, work at paces that are ‘fast’ for you and don’t compare yourself to other people.
➕ BONUS TIP – don’t race too much.
